The New Atheism ACTS Forum
During the last few years, a new form of atheism has taken hold in the United States. The New Atheists share a belief that religion should not simply be tolerated but rather should be countered, criticized and exposed by rational argument wherever its influence arises. Our speaker for the March 9 ACTS Forum taught us how to think biblically about this movement.

Sanctity of Life ACTS Forum
Dr. Mark Liederbach spoke on the sanctity of human life, and how to biblically engage the culture concerning issues such as euthanasia, abortion and stem-cell research. Dr. Liederbach is an associate professor of Christian Ethics at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.

A Place in His Presence
Senior Pastor David Horner spoke November 9-10 on the importance of finding a place in His presence by praying and how to do this. The weekend prayer event was divided into five sessions, with topics including how to develop a hunger for prayer and building a consistent approach to prayer.

Rescue
Each one of us reaches a point in life where we need help-we need to be rescued. It was a cold and snowy Christmas Eve when a family in the North Carolina mountains needed rescuing.
